Weather is Winning this Year at Wimbledon

The pouring rains, thunders and lightning are to blame for Wimbledon schedule mess. Organizers have redone the order of play many times but the extreme weather conditions have left them with match accumulations. But according to some, dealing with the British weather is what makes a true champion.
Seven of the eight days of games so far have been affected by rain delays which would make the 2007 championships the most rained out since 1982. In the men's singles there were still two third round matches to be finished, raising doubts that the championships could be forced into a third week.
But not everyone managed to ride out the storm. French defending ladies' champion Amelie Mauresmo admitted the rain delays disrupted her as she crashed out of the fourth round to Nicole Vaidisova on Centre Court.
On the meantime, on Court One, Marion Bartoli coped better with the rain interruptions than her countrywoman Mauresmo as she dumped Serbian third seed Jelena Jankovic out of the tournament.
A men's doubles first round match of Wimbledon is still to be completed, while several mixed doubles first round matches have yet to even start, likewise two ladies' doubles second round matches.

Third seed Andy Roddick admitted earlier in the tournament that the rain was costing him dearly.The American, twice a Wimbledon finalist, has been spending time between matches losing costly card games to his coach Jimmy Connors.
