Whether you love animals or racing, or looking for a fun hobby, sport or business opportunity pigeon racing may be the thing you’re looking for. It may sound strange to some but the numbers speak for themselves and is enjoyed by millions. The fact is there is at least one pigeon racing club in every state or city in the United States.

There are more than two million pigeon fanciers worldwide and continues to grow every year. Pigeon racing is a fascinating and educational sport and hobby and is frequently nicknamed “Horse racing of the sky” The reason being that pigeon racing provides the same challenges and satisfaction as horse racing but at a fraction of the cost. These aren't your ordinary street fowl, to compare them together would be like comparing a thoroughbred race horse to a mule, but unlike horse racing, pigeon racing allows you to be part of the action instead of a spectator.

Although Pigeon racing can be a thrilling, exciting and fascinating sport that at times can be taken seriously it can also be a fun hobby that the whole family can enjoy. Often relieving the tension and stress of daily life as well as teaching important principals such as sportsmanship, responsibility and camaraderie and if that wasn’t enough pigeon racing can spark interest in subjects like nutrition, genetics, mathematics, psychology, physiology, problem solving just to name a few. Pigeon racing is an extremely fulfilling sport and hobby from the everyday life of the pigeon from watching them care and feed their young, building nests, incubating their eggs, putting together a brand new mating pair to the exciting job of building a race team, nutrition, training, breeding and of course racing. The use of pigeons by humans can be traced back as far as 4,000 years, from their early days as pets to carrying important messages during wartime to the present day athletic racing pigeon.
