Use A Golf Tee When You Can

The golf tee is most likely not one of the first things you think of when you think of golf. But, there are specific rules

within the game of golf that you must abide by to make the game legitimate. A lot of these regulations

contain variables which grant you the use of certain tools during a round of golf. The golf tee is one of

these tools. If you are new to the game, you might be

wondering what a golf tee is. Basically, a golf tee is a small stand to hold the ball before you hit it. It usually is composed of wood or plastic. It can only be used on the tee box for the first

swing to start a new hole.

For those who are familiar with the game, they understand the role the golf tee plays in their game. They have seen the pros using a tee, and have marveled at how perfect most of their shots seem to

be. There are

different methods to using a tee that will have an affect on your golf shot. To get the best results you can, you will have to

use the tee according to pre-shot conditions. The strength and direction of the wind, the

condition of the tee box, and the golf club you are using are a few things that have to be taken into

consideration.

For example, let's look at the driver. It has been widely

suggested to have the ball teed up at least half an inch higher than the head of the driver. Because of the swing path when using the driver, this

is considered the ideal set up. The angle this postion creates will provide the ball the best opportunity to acheive ideal

height and maximum distance. You will be applying this teeing technique the most since the driver is

used off of the tee box more than any other club. If the wind is blowing in your face, you will need to tee

the ball a bit lower. This will

keep the ball down so the wind does not catch it as much, causing you to lose a lot of distance. Whenever

the wind is at your back, you can keep the ball teed up the same way. Or, you could tee it just a little higher, and let the wind carry it on for

some extra distance.

It takes a combination of many things working collectively, such as different tools and processes, to hit a

sound golf shot. The golf tee is considered one of these tools, because of its capability to produce the

ideal set-up for your ball. It comes as a surprise to some just how much the use of a tee can shape the path of a

golf shot. Having the

ball teed up correctly is important. Whenever the ball is

teed up to high or to low, it may affect the outcome of the shot. For the best results, select the right club, make a nice,

flowing swing and remember, tee it up!
