English Language Learners - Learning to Speak the International Business Language

The English language is the official language in roughly one quarter of the world’s nations and is spoken by nearly a third of the world’s population. Of about 1.8 billion people who speak the language, about a half billion of those are bilingual, choosing to learn English as their second language.

Because it is the most commonly known language, English is considered the primary language of commerce, science, aviation, entertainment, and diplomacy. In countries where English is not the primary spoken language, many children are encouraged to become English language learners, particularly if they expect to enter business or diplomatic fields.

Technology improves and advances bilingual learning

Thanks to today’s powerful computers and software, combined with decades of experience and experimentation teaching English via computer software, today’s English language learners are able to learn faster and more thoroughly than ever before.

English language learners internationally

Classrooms around the world begin offering English classes at a very early age. While children must first learn their native language, allowing them to grow and develop in their homeland, many parents and cultures believe it is a vital part of the learning process to learn English due to the fact that it is nearly universally spoken. Knowing English allows a person to effectively communicate in virtually any part of the world.

English language learners in America

Despite English being the primary language spoken in America, with the rate of immigrants coming into the U.S., both legal and otherwise, the number of non-English speaking children grows every day. This increases the need for those who struggle to learn English to have English as a Second Language classes made available to them in order to prevent them from falling too far behind their peers in the classroom.
