Amyris oil


 Amyris oil


Amyris oil is obtained by steam distillation of the wood from  Amyris balsamifera which mainly grows in Haiti.

It has a woody, slightly sweet, balsamic aroma, suggestive of sandalwood.
It is used as a fixative in perfume formulations. It blends well with cedar wood, jasmine and rose scents.
The chemical composition [in percentage] of the major components is as follows;
Valerainiol                         -        20-25
Zingiberene                       -        3-5
Selinene                           -        3-4

Selinadiene                               -           3-4


Selinenol                                   -           5-7


Gurjunene                                 -           1-2


Eudesmol                                 -           25-30


Elemol                                      -           10-15


Curcumene                               -           3-4


Bisabolene                                -           1-2


Agarofuran                               -           1-2


Acroadiene                               -           1-2
