About Poland

Szczecin is situated in the north-west of Poland, only 120km from Berlin and 80km from the Baltic Sea.. From an airport Szczecin-Goleniow you can fly to London with Ryanair and flight takes only 2 hours. Szczecin has quite good public transport. In day you can travel by tram and buses, and in night only by night buses. Taxi are very cheap, but only when you call for them. If you don’t know any number, just ask anyone who you meet.

There are many interesting places in Szczecin. You should see Pomeranian Dukes Castle, Old Town, Waly Chrobrego, Park Kasprowicza and the oldest ciemna in the world Pionier (still in operation). Of course Poland is well known from gerat cuisine. You must taste zurek, pierogi ruskie and bigos (sauerkraut with pieces of meat and sausage). There are many good restaurants in Szczecin. I like Columbus, Colorado and Chata, where you can eat traditional Polish food.

It’s great city for young people who likes pubs and clubs. Most of them are situated in the city center and in the Old Town. You have to taste polish beers, which are in my opinion the best in the world. Tyskie, Zywiec and Bosman (Szczecin’s local beer) are most popular. Beer cost only 2$ so you can drink as much as you want. Pubs are open till last client.

Hotels are cheaper then in Warsaw or Cracow. The best are Radisson SAS and Park Hotel. If you want to know more about them visit site www.hotels-in-poland.info
