There are a lot of tips available on the World Wide Web that offer ways on how to enhance fuel economy. Buying a fuel-efficient automobile or SUV, keeping tires properly inflated, utilizing the right octane level for the car, changing the oil on a regular basis and lessening excess weight are just some of the several convenient and easy ways to have better gas mileage.

But truck owners, more often than not, don’t recognize that there are performance parts available on the market that are designed and constructed to amplify fuel economy. By enhancing your diesel performance and power qualities, you can significantly enhance the fuel efficiency of your car. Diesel emissions and oil stays cleaner longer, amplifying power and performance and also extending the longevity of the engine!

Below is a list of diesel performance parts that can provide better fuel mileage:

Air Intake Systems – Air filters and air intakes can enhance fuel economy by bringing adequate amount of oxygen into the internal-combustion engine. The dirt particles can be trapped inside the passages and then eventually create clog, producing great airflow restriction. And when this happens, just a lower amount of oxygen is available for ignition with fuel, therefore resulting to poor performance. But with the use of air filters, no more dirt that can obstruct the oxygen from going to the engine, thus creating better combustion. And this can result to improved fuel mileage, and it can increase the longevity of your engine. On the other hand, the air intake kits are made to replace the stock engine’s air box and filter. The kit can increase air flow and lets the engine to breathe easier, therefore creating more torque and horsepower.

There are lots of makes of air intakes on the market today that offer the same function which is to maximize oxygen flow going to the engine for efficient fuel combustion. Also, air intake products are available in different designs and configurations, and are constructed using metal, rubber, silicone and other compound substances.

Exhaust Systems – If you think that exhaust systems can’t enhance gas mileage, think again. Generally, stock exhausts with narrow pipes and stiff bends limit the flow of gases that come out from the engine which lead to suffocating the engine. If this is the case, your car will have less combustion thus declining its performance and will have inefficient gas consumption. But with use of replacement exhaust systems, you can have a free flowing system where burnt gases from the engine will flow and quickly come out in the tailpipe, leaving no hindrances to the passage. Proper flow of burnt gas promotes superb engine combustion which can lead to improved gas economy. Not to mention the extreme torque and horsepower that your car can have, making hauling, towing and climbing almost effortless.

Several brands and models of exhaust kits are being offered today. Depending on the design of the system, an exhaust product might comprise of a cylinder head, exhaust manifold, turbocharger, catalytic converter and a low restriction muffler.

Electronic Tuning Products – Re-programming your car’s computer to optimize its tuning according to your specific specifications and manner of driving is also another method of getting enhanced gas mileage. As we all know that majority of stock vehicles are just tuned to facilitate average drivers in a wide variety of conditions. So, if you want to manipulate your vehicle stock configurations to fit your preference and driving needs, electronic controllers and program tuners are great solutions specifically for computer-controlled cars. Also, there are performance chips that are planned for utmost power and to provide better fuel mileage than the stock tuning.

Keep in mind that the mentioned auto parts above might enhance your gas economy. But still, the easiest practice is to run your car more efficiently and keep it tuned properly to save gas on your everyday travel.
