Plus Size Swimsuits In Your Style

Summer time brings a bit of stress to plus size women when it comes to buying swimwear. A lot of them will not wear swimsuits, even in the hottest of weather. There are worries about wearing swimsuits that do not portray their body in a positive way. The good news is that the designers are finally getting the hint and creating swimwear for larger women that is quite becoming.

When it is time to buy bathing suits there are a few things you need to consider. What will flatter your body the most at a time when you are wearing the least? Full figured women should look for support for the bust first. Built in bras, and bras with underwire in plus sizes are available. These bras will provide support and therefore have a slimming effect. The makers of plus size swim wear will sometimes add both support and slenderizing effects. Buy your swim wear with the same considerations that you use when buying your bras and you will look good and feel great.

The next consideration is the style of suit that is best for your body. As a general rule, one-piece bathing suits are more flattering for full-figured women then are two-piece suits. The reason for this is that a one piece suit looks uniform and helps to create a slimming type of line while encouraging the eye to see the positive as opposed to drawing the eye to the negative.

The two most flattering styles of swimwear for the full figured beachgoer are the tankini and the blouson style suit. The tankini is a two-piece suit but is not a bikini: rather, it looks like a tank top and complementary boy cut shorts (or bikini bottom, if you prefer). There are so many designs that can make tankinis look sporty, fun, flirty, or elegant. This kind of suit can be helpful to downplay or hide uncomfortable areas of the plus sized body, and it is stylish and pretty to boot. Tankinis with a longer top can meet the bottom and appear similar to a one-piece suit, and shorter tops show a bit of skin between the two pieces. You can buy your tankini as a matching set or you can mix and match to find your own unique combination that expresses just your style.

Choose a swimsuit that accents the positive and conceals the negative. One that will balance your figure is the blouson swimsuit. For a woman wanting to camouflage her top half, this style of suit works wonders. Her legs are shown off while the pretty suit flatters her upper torso. This is a good option for modesty as well.

The cut of the leg of your swimsuit is very critical. A higher cut will elongate your leg. If you are short, however, a too-high cut will only emphasize this. If you legs are not slim, a too-low cut on the leg will make your legs appear heavier. Skirts look great on taller people, but can make a short person look even shorter. Determine your trouble spot, and choose the right cut for you. This will maximize your assets.
