Passionate Paris Will Tempt Your Taste Buds

Paris is a wonderful, cosmopolitan city famous for many things such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc D’Triomphe, stylish shopping and the Notre Dame Cathedral. All of these make a trip to France’s capital city an incredible adventure. Paris is also home to some of the finest cuisine in the world so checking out the markets and top restaurants will ensure your taste buds don’t miss out on the stimulation.

The city has almost 80 food markets and the words ‘spoilt for choice’ don’t even begin to cover them. The markets reflect the diversity of Paris with three main types to be found. So whether you want a relaxed temporary street market, a more sophisticated affair where incredible shops set up their own little stalls right outside or a traditional covered market that tend to be open most of the week, gourmands from all over the globe will be in their element. One thing to watch out for is that Monday is a day off for the markets so make sure you plan around this.

These markets are host to a plethora of first-rate French produce. Some of the world’s greatest cheeses, mushrooms, bread, cakes, tarts and even fresh fruit and vegetables can be found, eyed and devoured. A lot of the market produce can be taken home after your trip to Paris so the sights and smells of the French markets needn’t be a distant memory when your visit is over.

France is a nation in love with their food and this is well reflected in the many magnificent brasseries and renowned Michelin starred restaurants within Paris. You’ll never have to walk far to find a venue for a quick tasty snack, a relaxing lunch or a classy gourmet dinner. There are many hidden gems off the beaten track, yet still easily accessible from the many hotels in Paris, making it possible to enjoy a meal at a charming, intimate restaurant before enjoying a serene and scenic walk by the Seine to round off the evening.

For every great dish there’s a wonderful French wine to accompany it. Paris is home to some of the most well-stocked cellars anywhere in the world. With expert Sommeliers to help and guide your choice of wine to suit your meal, eating and drinking out in this great city is an art form in itself. Champagne may not originate in the region but Paris has a reputation for being a city of celebrations and romantic ones in particular.

The passion for all things food and drink is just one small part of what makes Paris the city it is today. It’s certainly not all snails, frogs’ legs and overpriced wine. Nothing could be further from the truth in fact. Paris has a way of getting into people’s hearts and this is in no small part down to its pursuit of culinary perfection.
