Sony Ericsson W880i: slimmer dimensions...sharper sound

After exploring sliders with W850iand touchscreen with the W950i, the Walkman phone have now ventured into the 'slim' territory. With its latest arrival – the Sony Ericsson W880i, this mobile manufacturing giant has entered into a mobile phone section they have shied away for so long. Infact, the Sony Ericsson W880i is the thinnest Sony Ericsson mobile phone till date. Measuring a mere 9.4 mm in thickness and its feather weight of a shed over 70 grams makes it one of the thinnest and lightest 3G mobile phone in the world.


The Sony Ericsson W880i is a simple candy bar mobile phone that belongs to the Walkman family. Currently available in Steel Silver and Flame Black, both the colour solutions of the Sony Ericsson W880i sports the iconic orange colour in its design scheme and a Walkman logo to give a hint about the Sony Ericsson W880i's music playing skills.


The Sony Ericsson W880i is endowed with an upgraded Walkman media player v2.0. Other than the cosmetic changes in the user interface of the new Walkman player, the Sony Ericsson W880i includes many new features previously unavailable in its earlier form. A feature called TrackID is incorporated so that you can instantly obtain all necessary information about a song by sending just a few seconds of the song's recording. A2DP Bluetooth profile allows you to enjoy your dose of music wirelessly. Other than the 16 Mb of internal memory, the Sony Ericsson W880i is shipped with a 1GB memory card (M2) which could be further be expanded.


Primary camera of this dual camera phone is 2.0 megapixel. a secondary VGA camera is located at the top of the 262k colour TFT screen to aid 3G video calls. The Sony Ericsson W880i supports UMTS networks over and above triband GSM mobile network connectivity. Data and local connectivity tools

like EDGE, GPRS, USB and Bluetooth also finds their place in the petite handset.
