How to Clean Anything - Tips for Making It Happen

We live in such a demanding world. We have to work, work, work, make dinner, and we're expected to clean too? And what with all the chemicals and cleaning gadgets on the market, it's an overwhelming job.

However, you can learn how to clean anything with just a few basic tools. When you think about it, we've got it easy. Our great-grandmothers kept cleaner houses than we do, and they did without all those "modern conveniences!"

Chemicals - You'll be able to clean just about anything if you just keep some basic liquid cleansers and chemicals around. First, ammonia. Do you want clean clarity? Ammonia is a good choice to use for cleaning solutions. It's wonderful mixed in water for cleaning windows and glass, stainless steel, and mopping floors.

Lemon juice is another acidic liquid that you should have on hand for bringing back the shine in dull objects. And how could we do without bleach? We need it to kill off the mold and mildew, as well as get rid of those stains on the white items.

But remember, you must always remember that bleach and ammonia must be kept separate! The combination of the two creates fumes that are deadly! Don't play around with them. Next we take a little trip to your spice cabinet for salt and cream of tartar, both of which are quite useful for cleaning challenges. With these items on hand, you'll be prepared for how to clean anything.

Large tools - Probably a vacuum, most likely a Swiffer or a dust mop, definitely a good broom with a dust pan. All three are considered necessities in many households, depending on the types of floors.

You may prefer the mop and bucket like many other people if you have linoleum or tiled flooring. Got dusty ceiling fan blades and cobwebs hanging in the corners of your ceiling? You'll want a long-handled duster for these jobs.

Small tools - Basically wiping tools such as sponges, wags, and a couple of microfiber clothes. These are considered the staples of cleaning tools. You can make your own rags from worn out men's undershirts and old cloth diapers. But sponges can become breeding grounds for germs, so they should be replaced often. Microfiber cloths come in two varieties.

The first one is used for general household dusting and cleaning. It's nubby or napped in texture. The second is smooth, meant for delicate surfaces like electronic screens. And if you don't want to dry out the skin on your hands or handle nasty things directly when you're learning how to clean anything, you may want to consider rubber gloves as one of your cleaning necessities!
