Bullying - Stop Bullying and Save Your Child

Bullying is not something to be ignored. Everyone has a right to live carefree & roam about freely. Hence, any kind of bullying, threatening or feeling of insecurity should be considered abnormal & taken care of immediately. Most people tend to ignore bullying as they think that it happens to all. You don’t have to accept it at all.

You can do a lot to stop bullying. All you require to do is to take a step ahead. Here are some important & effective steps that you can take in order to stop bullying in its tracks.

Step 1 - The child should be calm

It is very important for your child to be calm way before starting. If your child gets agitated about all that’s happening, you need to assure him that nothing is wrong & you are there for him. It would be wise to wait until the child gets calm before continuing. Don’t get hyper yourself. If you want your child to be calm, you need to practice patience & keep cool.

Step 2 - Let your child speaks

Give a chance to your child so that he can narrate his story. Don’t get emotional. It is important to know all the details of the incident. Don’t blame the child. This will discourage your child to tell you anything about a bullying incident next time.

Step 3 - Find out the root cause

You need to analyze what triggered off the bullying. There must be something that instigated the bully to start teasing your child. That will let you find a solution for the whole problem.

Step 4 - Listen to your child

Pay close attention to what you child is saying. Once your child knows that you are not taking interest in his talk, he won’t approach you again. Listening to your child patiently & attentively will make him respond better.

Step 5 - Find the solution

Try to find a good solution to this problem with your child. The child should be a part of the whole plan. This will raise his self esteem & boost his confidence.

Step 6 - Role play with your child

Once you brain storm a solution with your child, role play it with him. This will help your child get prepared for a bullying incident that occurs again.

Step 7 - Follow up

It is very important for you to follow up with your child & find out whether bullying incidents are still occurring in his life. Let the child know that you are interested.

Bullying is a serious issue. You need to take proper steps to prevent it. In case, you are unable to do so, the child may get depressed and the whole scenario will affect his studios & other activities.

Following the seven crucial steps mentioned above will help you prevent your child from getting bullied. Make sure that both you & your child are involved to the plan that you make against bullying. A confident child never gets bullied. Keep boosting your child’s confidence & praise him for good things he does.
