Bridal Portraits - Best Suggestions

One thing I forgot when I got married was the rendez-vous for bridal portraits. Eventhough I believed they may have been very nice to possess, I opted not to get dressed up in my wedding gown and give money for a hairdo a few days before the big day, only to have to do it all a second time for the actual event.

I understand bridal portraits are significant to some persons, but for me,it wasn't something that I felt I needed to do and not only saving money to skip them. For some reason, I preferred to be dressed up in my beautiful wedding dress and looking beautiful on my wedding day only. I thought that the second time would not be as special.

I was right. I would not have felt as good if I had put my gown on for bridal portraits before the wedding day, and I definitely didn't feel like going for it after the fact. Instead, I did all the photos I wanted the day of the event and it stayed that way. I do understand the reason why a lot of people agree to do the bridal portraits, and I can also understand why this could be a benefit to others.

The principal reason is that they do not feel rushed or stressed, and they don't feel they are making guests waiting around for them to finish on their wedding day. It really cuts the amount of time spent with the photographer after the ceremony, and I believe all the wedding guests would love that.

For some though, the bridal portraits adventure becomes more important than the wedding day. This happened to a friend of mine. She is a very nice young woman, but she is kind of hung up on what her parents are expecting of her. All they wanted was a big portrait to hang in their home, and that was that. She could have done it on the wedding day, but she had to keep the photos down as much as she could. She made the appointment for her bridal portraits and said she had a lot of fun doing them, but she also said she thought it took away from the wedding day a bit for her. Each woman should decide for herself, and it will not be very important in the end. The important issue here is to make the experience what the couples dreams it to be, and not to have to do what other people think is right. If a woman thinks it might take away from how she feels on her wedding day, the portraits sessions should be skipped. No harm done.
