Next, either an HD DVR or HD receiver is needed from DIRECTV. Finally, if you’ve had DIRECTV for some time, you may need a different satellite dish. How much does DIRECTV charge for HD? Currently, the HD package is currently priced at $9.99 per month. DIRECTV recently created the HD Extra Pack, a new premium service of HD networks, available for an additional $4.99 per month.
