Inviting a squirrel over for dinner.

The trip was great, and with my batteries recharged I headed home looking forward to the work week ahead. Upon entering my house I was first taken back by the disturbing site of white fluffy stuff strewn about my living room. The white stuff was in fact the stuffing that used to be inside my living room sofa which was now a shredded mess. After gaining my composure I then noticed a site that made my knees weak.  My wood blinds (plantation shutters) that were recently installed throughout the house and cost me thousands now looked like something out of a haunted house. The bottom louvers (some people call them slats) were all chewed up on every single shutter. What could have caused this destruction, this abomination, to say the least I was raving mad. The madness turned to fear when all of a sudden out of nowhere this lunatic squirrel came racing across the living room floor and bolted towards my downstairs bedroom. After calming down I opened the front door and proceeded to heard the squirrel towards freedom.  To make a long story short, I called a pest control company and they told me that the squirrel had entered the house through the chimney. I had them install a cage on the chimney so this would never happen again. The sofa was not worth paying to have reupholstered so I trashed it. As for the shutters I found a lot of local companies that wanted to sell me new shutters, but nobody willing to repair them. Thank goodness for the internet. Online I found a site that ships replacement wood slats that were easy to install and I didn't even need to hire someone to do it.  Now that this little adventure is over I don't think I will ever look at my little squirrel friends the same way again.
