Flat Pack Furniture Assembly Help
Most flatpack furniutre is fairly straightforward to build provided you have the right frame of mind but there are always those little things that frustrate you. Is a part missing? perhapos it is not clear how to perform one small (but no doubt vital!) part of the assembly? or perhaps you would rather watch the football on tv on a Sunday afternoon?
At some point you have to buy furniture, and if you have bought something nice, or functional don't you want it put up properly?
These days we all have busy lives and our spare time is precious time to relax, why trouble yourself with assembling furniture? This is where flat pack assemblers come in handy and you can find many locally by searching in your favourite search engine. I have been build furniture for several years and am often surprised at how similar items vary form manufacturer to manufacturer, below are some of the things to watch out for:
- Wardrobes over 2M wide often need to be levelled so they look right and this is difficult and time consuming.
- Sliding doors on many wardrobe need to be assembled separately, so ask before you buy.
- Plinth and cornices (mainly MFI) need to be cut with precision power tools.
- All drawers, tie racks, trouser racks, shoe raacks, etc usually have to be assembled and installed. if you add 15 mins for each one, you can quickly see how "storage solutions" will take a long time to assemble.
My recommendation would be to have a realistic think about how long it might take you to install the furniture.
Choosing an assembler/assembly firm:
Someone with experience will not only ask you detailed questions about the furniture so they have a good idea of the work involved, but will also clearly explain how much they are going to charge and how they work it out. They will also highlight anything that may vary the length of the job.
I would always recommend the guys on the Flat Pack Amigos website for one simple reason. I recruited all of them. This means:
- I have done at least one job with each of them.
- I have seen how they interact with customers.
- I have vetted them to ensure they have the right sort of personality.
- I have built a relationship with them.
Flat Pack Amigos is not trading anymore, but the website remains as a source fo work for the loyalty the assemblers showed and you can contact each of them directly, you never know you might get me. So if I have convinced you click on the Flat Pack Amigos website now!
Also many of them also subcontract for other firms, so the chances are you may get one of the guys on the Flat Pack Amigos website whoever you contact.
