The Function of a Brush Guard

There are a number of ways through which vehicle owners can improve their vehicles. One of the available options is to install a brush guard. This component is a tubular steel framework attached to the frame of trucks and SUVs. It is also sometimes known as the grille guard, and it can be mounted on the front section of the vehicle. It covers the headlights and the grille without affecting the functions of these components. Many truck and SUV owners opt to have this protective component installed as it protects the delicate parts of their vehicle such as the headlights, radiator, battery, and especially the engine.

Most owners of SUVs and trucks have quite a venturesome lifestyle. Having a brush guard on their vehicles is a good way to gear up their ride and enable them to keep on with their lifestyle. Besides, no matter how careful one may be while driving, accidents may happen. A driver may run against extended tree branches that can cause scratches to the headlights and to the other components on the front end. Another driver might underestimate his braking on a slippery road and get into a major collision against another car. The brush guard can protect the vehicle from minor accidents on low-impact crash. On a major head-on collision, on the other hand, it can reduce the damage against the vehicle’s body as it takes most of the initial shock. With this tough protective bar, various components of a vehicle are spared from being damaged.

Aside from providing additional protection, a brush guard also significantly enhances the look of a vehicle. It instantly gives it a “rugged look” that exudes the attitude of an adventurous car owner. As an accessory, the brush guard combines functionality with style. Having one gives some character. Installing them is rather simple, and with the impact they provide on the look of a vehicle, it is not surprising that many consider having one on their rugged rides.
