Sagem Phones Goodbye

At the end of 2008, Sagem Mobile the division of SAFRAN group will be selling Sagem phones to Purple Labs, under their division of Sagem Wireless of which SAFRAN is now an investor.

Sagem has been around since the beginning of the mobile phone era however, Safran, the owner of Sagem halted the mobile phone division back in July 2008.

The cell phone department was sold as they showed a continual deficit. Purple Labs will provide Sagem Wireless with all of the application software for its products and all of the software for its future 3G Linux devices based on LiMo Foundation requirements.

Sagem phones have been launched not only under their own brand, but also under names like Sony Ericsson, Orange and Vodafone.

All is not lost for current Sagem users as anyone with a Sagem mobile phone will still be able to receive service and guarantee for their mobile handset.
