Hostels in Amsterdam – An Affordable, Safe and Comfortable Choice of Accommodation

When speaking of European capitals, Amsterdam is among the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. Aside from being the city of free spirits that everyone is attracted to, Amsterdam is also a city of rich culture and traditions. It is probably this mixture of old and new that attracts so many people of all ages to this beautiful city. Amsterdam has something to offer to everyone, regardless of their age or tastes. When walking the streets of Amsterdam, you will probably feel like going back in time quite a few centuries, as the city has some very fine pieces of architecture. But there is a very young and free spirit inside of this “old body”. There are many interesting museums and places to visit or concerts to go to. For those less interested in architecture and art, there are always lively pubs and clubs to go to, and maybe even some free outdoor concerts. Gourmands can choose from a wide variety of both traditional and international cuisine. But, above everything else, the friendly atmosphere is probably the specialty of this city. And if you feel that you’ve seen enough of Amsterdam, there are always other cities or places in the Netherlands that are worth visiting.

Your only problem when visiting Amsterdam should be to find an affordable place to stay at. As you might have guessed, hotels are not among the most affordable accommodations for travelers. But the Dutch have it all covered. If you travel with your friends or a limited budget, there are many hostels in Amsterdam to choose from.

Why is an Amsterdam hostel a very good choice for accommodation? First of all, it is very convenient. Prices start as low as € 19 for a dormitory bed, and go up to only € 39 for a bed in a twin or double room. Therefore, even if you don’t feel like sharing the bedroom with other people, it is still very convenient to stay at an Amsterdam hostel. Secondly, lower prices do not necessarily mean services of inferior quality or less comfort. Some hostels in Amsterdam offer a series of facilities, such as free quality breakfast, free hot shower, free linen, free storage for your luggage, free city map, free walking tour, free movie to watch, international telephone facilities, night security, and so forth. Some hostels in Amsterdam also provide parking places, but these are usually charged. Furthermore, an Amsterdam hostel is the ideal place to meet people and make new friends. And what better way to do that than being part of the warm and cozy atmosphere that hostels in Amsterdam can offer? And since hostels are typically places for young people who like to go out at night and have a good time till dawn, you shouldn’t expect any lockout or curfews. Most hostels in Amsterdam are open around the clock, but, as has been said before, they also have night security.

So, if you plan on spending your holiday in Amsterdam or you’re just passing through and need to spend a few nights there, enjoy the friendly and cozy atmosphere of an Amsterdam hostel, and save your money, for there are many other things to do in the city.
