Nokia N95 – Find your way out

As the Nokia N95 made its debut, many termed it as the 'King of Nseries'. The device sure lives up to the tag, for it strike a perfect balance between design and functionality to pose as a super phone, smartphone. It comes with a novel dual slider mechanism and has enhanced ergonomics to multiply its multimedia prowess. Chief amongst its features are a whooping 5 MP camera, GPS navigation system, a good music player and 3G technology.

Much has been said about the imaging capability of the Nokia N95, but equally interesting and appealing is its GPS system. The GPS which goes by the name 'Maps' is very different from other portable navigators, or previous sat-nav phones from Mio and HP. The Nokia N95 downloads local mini-maps, routes and even voice commands on the fly. Each map covers a decent area of 0.5 miles around, so the users are on a reasonable mobile Internet tariff. Just like the Google Earth, the map opens on an image of Earth from space, which swoops smoothly once the GPS aerial lock on – a real splendor to watch. The Nokia N95 covers maps of around 100 countries. The GPS is quite sensitive and is able to locate itself even through windows.

The GPS of Nokia N95 offers all the standard sat-nav features. This includes route planning, search and local points of interest (such as restaurants, shopping malls etc). Once the GPS is activated, the route planning takes place in few seconds, complete with turn by turn information. For some extra information, the users can avail the benefit of 3G and download data from the online world. The sat Nav can be used both while walking as well as driving. Though the GPS works better when walking. It offers louder, faster, better speed-camera info and actually is able to search for destinations.

Undoubtedly, the Nokia N95 stands apart in realms of pure portability and ease of communication.
