Find Out One of the Keys to Being Lean for Life

To help me learn constantly what makes a successful fat loss program, on a regular basis I observe people's habits and actions. These

observations are just as vital to understanding the basis of fitness success of failure as reading books, articles or journals.

On a regular basis when I meet people and they find out that I'm a personal trainer, they start to ask me about what their eating or doing to lose fat

and what I think about it. This is great for me as it not only allows me to help more people, it also helps me to find out what most people do, believe in and what success or failure they have

had in the past.

Just as I don’t want to be preached to by someone about his or her expertise when I don’t ask for it, I have learnt to never preach about fitness to someone who doesn’t ask for advice.

So here's one thing I {{{realised|noticed} when I was on holidays , out of thousands of people from all around the globe who were walking around the

resorts on the warm days in their swimmers, I rarely saw anyone with anything looking like six pack abs, in fact I only saw 4 people out of about a thousand over

7 days!

Not that this had anything to do with their actions while they were on holiday, but it had a lot to say about their level of fitness. Of course, most people including

me do not follow their normal actions and lifestyle habits while on holiday, but this isn’t the point.

I make observations about the habits and actions of both fit people and fat people on a daily basis to help determine successful vs. unsuccessful actions. It could be at the

supermarket, at the gym, at restaurants, at the office, at somebody's house...all are potential spots to learn why people are either fit or fat.

Begin looking at the actions of the people around you daily, and look at their physique, it will teach you heaps. Here are some examples of things you may see:

You may know a women at the office who complains to you about how no matter how hard she tries she can never lose any fat but she is usually the first to the line when

someone brings cookies to share. You see that the man with the big belly, who says he cant get rid of it, is skipping breakfast on a regular basis (killing his

metabolism), and drinking 2 or 3 soft drinks a day without even realising it. No wonder he has a beer gut! On the other hand, you might also notice that the girl with the slim figure, who seemingly eats all

kinds of {{[fast|junk}}} food (and everyone gripes that she should be fat with all of that crap she eats), never actually finishes more than half of what she's eating. When you take a

look, she's actually not eating that many calories day in and day out, and that's why she's lean. It's not always as it appears on the surface.

The point is that there is always a reason behind why someone is either fat or lean, and it relates to their lifestyle, actions, and habits. If you look a

little deeper you'll learn loads about why people fail and why people succeed with fat loss and other fitness goals.
