Fat Smart

Losing weight isn't just hard work at the gym. You have to think your way thin. Losing weight requires a plan and that involves exercising your brain cells.

Do you go to the gym and do the same old routine each and every time at the same pace? If so your body will adapt and you'll see the same body week after week. Next time, rev up those brain cells and plan a workout with a variety of intensity levels to stimulate your body to promote fat loss.

Do you choose cardio as your main workout because everyone around you says it's the best form of exercise. Put those brain cells to work and ask a few good trainers about long slow cardio. They'll tell you it ranks far behind higher intensity activities such as interval training and weight training for fat reduction.

Here's one more. Do you go for low weight, high rep resistance training because everyone claims you burn more calories this way? Again, engage those brain cells. Lifting light weights with high reps burns very few calories and puts on little muscle. Lifting heavier weights will give you great looking lean muscle mass and make your metabolic rate soar.

If you want to get the most out of your fat reduction program, you need to put some time and effort into planning it out. Don't do what everyone else is doing without giving it some thought first. Before you take off for another workout in your comfort zone, put on your thinking cap and come up with a plan that will truly produce changes in your body.
