Bad Breath: A Primer

Before going on a date, a man can put on nice clothes, good cologne, and have their hair made trendy; they may go to any length to truly comprehend what it is the woman enjoys and does not enjoy. Understanding these likes and dislikes may show them the exclusive happiness that comes when they experience being with a woman they really want to be with. But all of this preparation is negated if you have bad breath. To knock out your date, you need to turn that bad breath into an appealing odor. It is time to investigate why you have a problem with bad breath.

It is time to be aware of what you are doing and if you are spending enough time taking care of your mouth. If you are not taking enough time cleaning your mouth then this might be why you have stinking breath. Don't be lazy. Take care of your mouth the right way.

After a meal or snack, you should get in the habit of gargling to reduce the food residue that eventually can lead to bacterial infections that cause oral odors. Even if you don't have antiseptic mouthwash available, gargling with water will rid your mouth of many food particles.

An addiction could also be to blame for foul breath. For chain smokers, the nicotine and tar from their cigarettes worsens tooth decay and thus leads to foul breath. By the same token, bad breath is also common in tobacco chewers. Because of this, it is vital for you to stop using any type of tobacco right away. If you look at self-help books and web pages on this topic, you will see all sorts of cures being suggested for bad breath. In truth, however, being certain to brush your teeth twice daily, and using the correct toothpaste, works far better to end bad breath than any costly cure or treatment.

You should consider consulting a dentist if you suffer from lingering bad breath despite all attempts to cure it through brushing, flossing, and avoiding tobacco products. This condition is called halitosis, and there are medications to treat it, or at least diminish the frequency or severity of the persistent and foul breath.

There are many ways to help you overcome having bad breath without having to change your life, or even make regular visits to your dentist. There is a product available over the counter at places like Walgreen's that was created by Dr. Harold Katz. It is called TheraBreath. He has been fighting his own bad breath for 25 years, and claims to have cured it with this product. It's worth trying out.

To knock out your date, you need to turn that bad breath into an appealing odor. There are many possible causes of halitosis and you need to identify yours specifically. Begin by reviewing your oral hygiene. Addictions can also cause halitosis, such as chain smoking and chewing tobacco. Gargle with water after each meal or snack. But no costly cures or procedures are as effective as brushing your teeth two times every day with a good toothpaste. You should consider consulting a dentist if you suffer from a lingering foul breath. This condition is called halitosis, and there are medications to treat it.
