MGS 4 PS3 Guide
As early as now, this game has been heavily talked about. This promises to be the most exciting and action-packed of all the games that franchise has seen yet. Hence, expect this game to be more action-packed beyond anything fans of Metal Gear Solid has played before as the game is set to take what could be its final bow.
To keep up with the demands of the overall enhancements for MGS 4, the developers have also improved the gameplay to make defeating the enemies (specifically, Liquid Snake/Revolver Ocelot) much more attainable, if not easier. The first step they took was to focus on the basic premise of the game: the controller. One of them is that complicated button set-ups just would not work for an action-packed game like MGS and action sequences that take only split seconds for you to adapt. Learning from flaws of previous versions, they have created it so that all the player needs to do is press the triangle button to carry out simple actions that are not related to combat such as opening doors. All you need to press is the triangle button and you'd get by quite easily.
Moving over to the combat mode, it has indeed went through a major revision process. You will find that in MGS4, using the auto-targeting option can help sharpen up your shooting skills. This new technique does not guarantee a completely flawless aim every single time but with this option at your disposal, it makes life even better for you.
The alert system in previous MGS games can be quite distracting as you have to take your eyes off the action and check on a little radar screen located at the corner. First of all, the previous alert system was too distracting to your line of sight since you have to constantly check that little radar screen at the corner. Instead of that tiny screen, there is now an “invisible” ring that follows Solid Snake around, so you won't have to take your eyes off of him. This ring will also change in color and become more solid as danger increases.
And to top it all off, there are the psych and stress meters. These two new features work on the premise that you have to learn how to control your adrenaline level and the amount of stress that you go through to be better able to act on the situation at hand. Apparently, the more stressed you are, the less effective you become. You have to keep an eye on these meters so you can perform better in battles. When this happens, you need to calm yourself down to be able to recover. This is probably one of the reasons why many people are raving about this game.
If there is one thing you can expect from a Metal Gear Solid game, it would be that the graphics and animation would be visually beautiful. The soundtracks, on the other hand, are enough to jolt you out of your seats and this is coupled with a rumbling technology on your controllers. The only thing that remains uncertain for this game as of now is its online mode. As of now, it still remains unconfirmed as to whether the MGS4 will be having an online mode but fans are not really sweating themselves out with that as they are raring to get their hands on MGS 4 as soon as it hits the market.
