Review of the Spyro Gyra CD - Wrapped In A Dream

The exceptionally talented Smooth Jazz group Spyro Gyra released their CD entitled Wrapped In A Dream. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Spyro Gyra fans, and Smooth Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Wrapped In A Dream their artistic excellence is on full display as they have once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be their best work to date.

I wish it weren’t the case but it’s not everyday that I get a CD for review that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Wrapped In A Dream. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

As a group Spyro Gyra possess the characteristic of being able to bowl you over with their talent alone. The kind of musicians I really enjoy listening to.

This CD grabs your attention right from the very first note of the very first track and doesn't let go until the very last note of the very last song. Which is another great track by the way.

If you’re a Spyro Gyra fan this is a CD your collection flat cannot be without. In fact, this is one of those CDs that you don’t even have to be a fan of Spyro Gyra, or even Smooth Jazz to know is good. This is just good music. Period.

While the entire album is outstanding some of my favorites are track 1 - Midnight Thunder, track 8 - After The Storm, and track 10 - The Lowdown

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 7 - Wrapped In A Dream. It’s a great track!
