What Your Name Can Do For You

The first thing you got to do with your startup advertising campaign is to look for a name. Your name is actually your brand – the one thing that you’ll be remembered and recognized by your target market.

It may be as easy as finding the right one from a TV soap, or it can be so difficult that you had to test several ones in the market before you finally agree on the most appropriate name for your business.

But one thing’s for sure. You got to have a name, a brand to startup your marketing campaign.

The first step is to get a serious name. This means that you should consider something that is both easy to remember (which means it’s easy to spell) and hard to forget (meaning, even in their dreams they can recall what you stand for). And unless you’re a gift shop or a hair salon, you might want to avoid using cutesy names for your brand, especially if you’re a commercial printing company.

Remember that your name reflects what you actually do. Your name represents what you uphold and believe in. It explains in part what you do to solve the problems of your target market. And it may be different from what you initially aimed it to be, but the beauty of having your name is that it allows you to evolve according to how your target audience would appreciate your type of brand.

Moreover, a good name can get you places; but the right one can make a huge difference in creating your position in your chosen niche. You’ve seen so many loser brands in the market fail to increase not only their sales, but also their customer base and loyal clients. But the right name can get you the lift you need to stand out.

That is why an experienced and smart business owner invests in the ‘right’ name for his or her business. If you spend your time and resources in developing your business plan, you also know that you should invest the same amount of time, money and energy in getting yourself the right name to introduce to your market. With the right marketing strategy, you’ll most likely have an effective name even if it came out of your breakfast cereal box.

So what’s in a name? What can your name do for your business? It starts your opportunity to boost your business, and helps you create a path that would make you very successful in your chosen field.
