Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., based in Wichita, Kansas, is the world's largest aero structures manufacturer. It was spun off of Boeing Corporation when Boeing sold its Wichita division to the investment firm Onex. The $3.3 billion deal creates Hawker Beechcraft Corp. and includes Raytheon facilities in Salina, KS.
