The Benefit of Future Planning for College
Not everyone can get a scholarship and chances are, that if you are like 99% of those hoping for a scholarship, you will not get one. So what happens to you then? You have spent all this time dreaming on a scholarship that will send you to college so you can get away from the destitute of your childhood. When this all goes down hill, you still have a viable option. You have prepared all of your life in preparation for being a responsible adult and the first decision you may have to make is whether you should take out a college loan and attend school, or just go straight into the working life.
Everyone knows that college is a must especially if you do not want to work a minimum job the rest of your life, so the decision to take out a college loan should be an obvious one. Of course the only real major drawback of obtaining college loans is that you cannot make them disappear simply by filing for bankruptcy, you will have to pay them off eventually or otherwise your heirs will have to. But without risks, what is the point of it all.
Some risks are just plainly stupid whereas others are well-calculated. One such calculated risk is the fact that by going to college, you will be able to make more money and have more things that you want versus not going. Of course this is a risk because even though the job options will be greater when you choose to attend and complete college, but this does not mean that you will get a high paying job right away or even within the first few years after graduating.
Obtaining a college loan so that you can attend college and graduate when the loan is the only remaining option for you to choose from just makes sense. Why give up any hopes on college simply because you did not get that scholarship you wanted or because you do not have the cash to pay for it. Working your way through college just makes life after it that much sweeter.
