What To Look For In A Home Business
The home business industry is one of the fastest growing industries around today. Millions upon millions of people will be start a home business in the next 5 years. It's growth can be linked to a number of factors. Home businesses can allow people to accomplish a number of different personal and financial goals. However, the home business industry has a tainted reputation because there are a lot of scams out there. So what should someone look for when they are looking to get into a home business. The answer is actually very simple. There are 4 key ingredients you should have in a home business. If these four key ingredients are not in place, you should continue your search until you find something that has all four of these. The four ingredients are not new. Successful businesses all around the world apply these ingredients. So, when you are looking for a home business to get started with be on the lookout for these four things: 1. product/service 2. marketing system 3. mentoring 4. training and support So, let's examine each of these in a little more detail. I'll go into more detail on each of these in more detail in other articles, but for now, let's get a snapshot of each. Product/service: A business has to have a product or service that far outweighs its value. If you're product does not outweigh its value, then it will not sell. You cannot sell a $3 trinket for $10. It just doesn't work. So be sure whatever your business product is, make sure it has a valuable product. (if you find a business that does not have a product or service, this is not a valid business-run in the opposite direction). Ideally you are looking for a business that has a front end product as well as multiple back end products which you can benefit from financially as well. Marketing System: Let's face it, if you want to reinvent the wheel, you will struggle. Look for a home business that has a system which you can easily follow and duplicate. You must market any business, if you don't market it, you will fail. So be on the lookout for marketing systems. Mentoring: A major benefit is the ability to ask questions to a real live person who you have access to on a regular basis. You will more than likely have questions when starting a home business, so make sure there is a mentor you can contact and that you will be working with. Your learning process will be shortened if you can tap into someone already doing it. This should be free. Training & Support: Training and support is crucial. Remember, this may be new to you so you want to know how to succeed. The only way to learn how to succeed is to receive training and ongoing support. Think about Tiger Woods. He has a coach. Michael Jordon, Lebron James, Lance Armstrong... you name them - they have coaches. You will want coaching, training and support as well. This should also be included in any business you are looking into. Finding a home business in which you can succeed with is not difficult, you just have to know what you are looking for. -------------------------- Eric Seidelman is a successful home based entrepreneur.
