Robert Kiyosaki & The Cashflow Quadrant
Robert Kiyosaki is a businessman, investor, teacher and author. A large part of Kiyosaki's teachings focus on helping people generate passive income by means of investment opportunities, such as real estate and small businesses, with the goal of being able to support yourself by these things. Robert Kiyosaki also views assets as things that can actually help you generate money, such as rental properties or businesses. He also views liabilities as things that will cost you money, such as house bills, cars etc. basically Kiyosaki says that financial leverage is a necessary force in becoming rich.
Robert Kiyosaki likes to stress that it is through financial education that you can achieve genuine wealth. He says that life skills are often best learned through experiences and that there are important lessons that you will need that you can’t find in school. That when you get a formal education is mostly done for those people that are looking to be employees or self-employed individuals, and that this is an “Industrial Age idea”. Robert Kiyosaki basically believes that in order to be able to obtain financial freedom, you must be either a business owner or an investor, generating passive income.
Robert Kiyosaki speaks often of what he calls “The Cashflow Quadrant.” This is the title that Kiyosaki gave to the system in which all the money in the world is earned. And “The Cashflow Quadrant” is what he also refers to as a diagram that he created which shows this system. The diagram is made up of four different groupings, which are split with two lines. In each of the four groups there is a letter that is meant to represent a way in which a person can earn income. The letters are:
E: Employee – Working for someone else
S: Self-employed or Small business owner – Where a person is their own boss.
B: Business owner – Where a person owns a business.
I: Investor – Spending money in order to receive a larger payout in return.
For those who are on the left side of the divide (E and S),may never obtain true wealth. Robert Kiyosaki has written three books ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad, Rich Dad's CASHFLOW Quadrant, and Rich Dad's Guide to Investing.
